MEDX, Inc. Receives FDA 510(k) Clearance for the T-Quest™ Gamma Camera
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted MEDX, Inc. (www.medx-inc.com) 510(k) clearance for the company’s newest nuclear imaging system, the T-Quest™ mobile gamma camera. Commercially available worldwide, the T-Quest™ is a completely portable, thyroid-specific gamma camera with superior imaging capabilities. By utilizing the T-Quest™ to perform thyroid and other small organ studies, nuclear departments can increase revenues, improve departmental efficiency and streamline operations by allowing high-end gamma cameras to continuously acquire high-revenue studies.
The compact and mobile T-Quest™ was designed specifically for optimized thyroid imaging and uptake calculations, but has the flexibility to perform any small organ imaging. Its minimized focal distance and mm/pixel ratio maximizes diagnostic quality through improved image resolution.
The T-Quest™ works in conjunction with the NuQuest® acquisition and processing computer providing a comprehensive, standalone system. The onboard NuQuest® computer provides state-of-the-art energy, linearity and uniformity corrections for superior image quality. The software features customizable thyroid and parathyroid protocols along with a host of general nuclear image processing tools. The NuQuest® features an intuitive user interface with simple pull-down menus and features DICOM 3.0 print, file export and modality worklist capabilities.
Requiring less than eight square feet of floor space and rolling easily through narrow doorways on four durable casters, the T-Quest™ is the smart choice for facilities operating with space and patient capacity limitations. The T-Quest™ features a 6” field of view and lightweight collimators which are easily changed by hand. Its unobtrusive design promotes patient comfort and is non-claustrophobic.
